I need a break sometimes, but I don't want to go on vacation by myself. So I was thinking maybe it's time for the Deakyne girls to have a girl's weekend. It probably wouldn't happen anytime soon. But I was thinking, if we start planning now, maybe we can get a vacation together for spring break or summer 2014. What do you guys think? Where do you guys want to go? I would prefer to go somewhere where none of us have ever been. Here are a couple of places I have been thinking about:
Yellowstone National Park
Virginia/Washington DC
Renting a cabin in Colorado or the Apalachian mountains
Hawaii (but airfare is expensive and Kelly's already been there)
New York (even though I've done that, it's worth repeating)
South Padre Island (on the coast of Texas)
Beach house in Baja Mexico (Dave says it's beautiful. But this would require us to have passports)
Cruise to the Caribbean or the Pacific
The cruise is my favorite option because I think it will be the least expensive and the most fun. We could buy tickets for $600/per person for a 5 day cruise, that's pretty standard. And that price includes the food, the entertainment, the room and everything on the cruise ship. If we leave from Long Beach, you guys would just have to drive to California and that would be your only travel expense. We could also leave from Miami or Texas, but none of us are really within driving distance of that, so we'd have to buy a plane ticket. And since I've already been to the Caribbean, I would love to try a Pacific cruise. But that's just my favorite option, I'm totally up for other suggestions.
I don't have the money for a vacation right now, but I figured since this is a year out, we can all start saving now and hopefully have enough by the time 2014 rolls around. Jackie and Kristy, if you guys need help with the money, I know one mother who would be particularly grateful for some long-term babysitting at some point. I pay pretty well too!

Look at me!
So last week I interviewed with a lady who writes an online magazine for start-up companies in LA. She wanted to get a take on what it takes to be the wife of an entrepreneur. This is the article she ended up writing based on our conversation. I guess actually she wrote two articles? I'm still not sure why she did that, I thought she'd just combine all our information into one. But for whatever reason, there are two articles and two separate links. So if you have time for an interesting read, check them out. Your not-very-well-spoken daughter/sister may sound like a child, but I thought it was kinda cool to see my name in an article at the same time.
